DORADO

MARICUNGA BELT, CHILE

Dorado is located in the Maricunga Gold and Copper Belt of northern Chile, approximately 135 km from the regional hub of Copiapo. The Maricunga Gold Belt includes deposits such as the nearby Marte-Lobo, Maricunga, La Coipa, Cerro Casale-Caspiche and Volcan. These contain a total of more than 100Moz of gold. The property comprises 13,170 Ha of recently staked exploration claims and 1,600 Ha of exploitation claims. Angold Resources’ objectives include continued drilling of the historic resource which remains open, as well as discovery of new targets.

MARICUNGA BELT LARGE DEPOSITS

**

The Maricunga belt hosts large porphyry and epithermal gold deposits of over 10 million ounces.  The region has a history of gold production and currently has reserves and resources in excess of 100 million ounces*. It boasts excellent infrastructure, an experienced mining labour force in a favorable mining jurisdiction.

DORADO GEOLOGY

Regional Geology

Dorado is a gold porphyry intrusive within the Maricunga Region. The Maricunga Region is a NNE trending gold belt approximately 200km long and 30km wide, that hosts a series of epithermal high sulphidation and porphyry-style gold-silver-copper deposits. The possible existence of a porphyry gold-copper system at depth at Dorado was identified early on given the geometry of alteration and the gold anomaly. Subsequent work has substantiated this hypothesis.

Observed Mineralization

Gold mineralization and alteration are typical of gold porphyry deposits in the Maricunga district. It consists of hairline to millimeter banded quartz veinlets accompanied by clay alteration and silicification. Gold grades are roughly proportional to the intensity of quartz veinlet density. Areas of higher grade gold mineralization (>1 ppm) are engulfed by an expansive and very wide spread cloud of anomalous gold (>100 ppb) in the historic resource area, which measures 400 x 400 m. Gold has only been encountered so far in oxidized rock, with shallow historic drilling to vertical depths of up to 300 m. Angold drill programs will test the depth extent of mineralization.

Property Geology

Dorado is located on a north-south trending uplifted block 1.2km wide. The uplifting prevented the block from being covered by post mineral latitic flows that cover a large area to the north of the gold resource area, and masking that area of any signature of a hydrothermal system and potential gold mineralization. This provides a good opportunity for follow up with geophysics and drilling under cover. Volcanics outcropping in the Dorado project area are intruded by subvolcanic bodies of quartz dioritic-dacite porphyry. These intrusives at Dorado are interpreted as ranging in size from small dikes/sills to major intrusive in size. Where observed, these intrusions have an association with phreatic breccias.

EXPLORATION POTENTIAL

Extension of the resource in oxide (lateral exploration and drilling under cover);

Extension of the resource at depth. Many holes ended in mineralization in oxide AND sulphide

Improvement of grade from focused drilling on re-interpreted structures. Many holes boasted >1g/t grades, but were averaged across multiple zones and low grade host rock.

Regional exploration on 10,000+ Ha of staked ground. There are also targets on the old Dorado centre of the project including a 200m wide high sulfidation alteration zone in the western-central region. The high-sulfidation trend continues in the southern portion of the concession.
